Mysticism? Empty Mysticism?

Post  Eclipse Wed Oct 21, 2009 5:03 pm

This was something covered in class, and I honestly don’t see the point of it. All it seems to be is a way for people to skirt around the truth. The argument goes something like this:

  • If a religious experience is beyond logic and reason, how can it be refuted, thus it must be true.

I may be alone here, but anyone can have a delusion or hallucination and call it mysticism. Why should it be treated as some kind of connection to a deity or deities?
