Question about planes
why are airplanes pressurized? They carry heavy loads of items and things and how can they stay up? Its amazing how humans create this.

Re: Question about planes
Uhm, okay well I always thought people knew stuff like this...
1. The reason they are pressurized it because air closer to the ground is far different than the air where a plane would fly. They need to pressurize it so that:
A) The plane is not crushed by the air, and so that B) the humans in the aircraft can still breathe properly.
2. The uplift of air on the plane based on its wings allows the plane to stay up (Same concept as a boat with a heavy load in water)

Re: Question about planes
Well, in an effort to make this philosophical, are humans meant to fly? Does our mechanical prowess give us this right, and should we use it? Today, a disease can spread from continent to continent in mere hours when such a thing would be unheard of in the past. Has flying really helped or hurt us as a race?
